SecureSet works in concert with multiple organizations comprising the growing tech community in the greater Tampa Bay area. Academy students are encouraged to seize the opportunity to engage with local organizations, such as SOFWERX (U.S. Special Operations Command’s rapid innovation community), to see if they can be of assistance in securing the next generation of technology and tap a growing mentor network for long term career growth.
Beyond this opportunity, SecureSet is the host to a number of major security industry gatherings and events, which will benefit the Academy student body.

Considered a top tourist destination, the Tampa Bay area is a great place to learn, work and play. Boasting a low cost of living and access to some of the world’s best beaches, housing options are plentiful and include Airbnb long and short-term rentals, historic and loft style apartments only blocks away from campus, and ample options near Hillsborough Community College, the University of South Florida, and the University of Tampa.

Tampa is an area rich in tech innovation and boasts an emerging startup community. Tech companies nearby include Jabil Circuit, Raytheon, ReliaQuest, and Forsythe.
Meals are not provided as part of the Academy, but Ybor has a reputation as a place to be for those looking for authentic eats, local drink, and a good time.
