Former Colorado Senator Mark Udall Joins SecureSet Board of Directors

June 30, 2017

SecureSet — an immersive, accelerated cybersecurity academy — today announced that former Colorado Senator and Congressman Mark Udall has joined its board of directors.

Udall, who served on the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Select Committee on Intelligence during his years in the national legislature, enlisted with SecureSet because of the cybersecurity industry’s vital role in safeguarding the economy and potential as an employment and innovation sector. There are currently more than 325,000 cybersecurity job vacancies in the US.

“Universities are an important part of the [security] solution, but we have to be far more agile and nimble to address emerging threats.”

“I find SecureSet’s mission compelling, both from a security and economic perspective,” said Udall. “Universities are an important part of the solution, but we have to be far more agile and nimble to address emerging threats. Innovation here means new career opportunities for Americans and more security for our consumers and citizens. There’s no time to waste.”

“Mark’s combined experience in business and politics are a vital asset to SecureSet,” added founder Bret Fund. “His deep insight into how we can scale our model while fulfilling our commitment to closing the cybersecurity skills gap comes at a pivotal moment in our growth.”
