Hacking 101: SQL Injection

This 101 provides an informative overview as well as a hands-on SQL injection exercise. Structured Query Language (SQL) injection is a common attack vector used to access sensitive information from data-driven applications. An attacker can use the injection to bypass a web application’s authentication mechanisms and retrieve the contents of its database. Some examples of data that attackers can retrieve from SQL injection include customer data, trade secrets and intellectual property.  Refreshments provided!

Your instructor for the evening is Erik Henrikson, MBA, CISSP, CSSLP. Erik is currently serving as one of SecureSet’s primary instructors at the Colorado Springs campus. Erik’s extensive background has been primarily spent in the roles of principal software engineer and risk manager with companies such as Dell/EMC. Erik earned his BS in Computer Science from Texas A&M and his MBA in High Technology from Northeastern University.
