Beginner’s Intro to Capture The Flag

Feeling like a cyber-n00b? Our Beginner’s Intro to CTF event is a great way to jump into the world of hacking. Our SecureSet instructors can help you configure your system and coach you along the way. You’ll be a flag-catching maestro in no time!

Join us for hot pizza, cold drinks, and cybersecurity fun! Bring a friend and snag some swag!

This SecureSet instructed CTF is eligible for 2 hours of CPE credit! Ask a SecureSet staff member at the event if you would like to receive a CPE certificate.

Agenda:
6:00pm to 6:30pm | Setting up your machine – what is a CTF?
6:30pm to 7:00pm | Instructor guided beginner levels
7:00pm to 8:00pm | Capture the Flag

What to bring:
+ Laptop and power cord
+ Ability to access 802.11n (2.4 GHz) wireless
+ All levels require a web browser and an SSH client (or the ability to install new programs if you don’t have the right tools)

Parking:
Public parking is available in the Palm Parking Garage. There are two-hour parking spots available along the street as well. The main entrance to SecureSet is located on the patio at the East side of the old Don Vicente hotel. You will see an open black gate at the back-right corner of the East patio. Take the stairs to the second-floor patio and enter through the French doors.

 


If you love hacking and you enjoy a little competition, you won’t want to miss out on our CTF events. CTF is a way to put your real-life hacking skills to the test in a safe and controlled environment. If you get stumped, our Academy staff can answer any questions you have.
