The CORE Technical is a 20-week immersive bootcamp program.

Our (approved) CORE program is your direct path to a cybersecurity career. This 800-hour immersive curriculum includes twelve foundational courses, extensive hands-on skill building, and guided product training (full time; see the evening comparison below).

CORE students graduate with the sought after knowledge and tradecraft for immediate employment as tier 1+ security engineers, analysts, pen testers and consultants. The evolution from general IT to cybersecurity can take five to 10 years. The CORE does it in as little as 20 weeks.

Network Fundamentals

Taught over the first two weeks of the program, this course covers networking basics and the application layer.

System Fundamentals

Taught over the first two weeks of the program, this course covers an intro to computer systems and Python.

Applied Crypto

Core primitives of cryptography – block ciphers, public key algorithms and hashing. Modern cryptography.

Threat Intelligence

A high-level perspective of threat intelligence: its creation and consumption.

Network Security 1

Core ideas in network security. Basic network protocols. Attacks on basic technologies.

System Security 1

Core ideas in system security. The three preeminent desktop and two mobile operating systems.

Detection & Logs

Computer information systems security monitoring. Intrusion detection. Crisis management.

Strategy & Analysis

Psychology of analysis. Criminal psychology. Threat intelligence. Much more.

Network Security 2

Advanced ideas in network security. Sniffing and port scanning. Web-based application security.

System Security 2

Advanced ideas in system security. Standard attacks. Payloads, malware and virtualization.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

On engaging all functional levels within the enterprise to deliver information system security.

Appreciation of what it means to be a security professional.

Full Time or Evening Schedules

The CORE Full Time program meets M-F over 20 weeks and includes 400 hrs. of theory and 400 hrs. of hands-on labs.

The CORE Evening program meets two evenings per week plus Saturdays (open lab time) over 36 weeks (4 x 9 week quarters with 2-3 week breaks) and includes 288 hrs. of theory and 288 hrs. of hands-on labs.

The following are recommended characteristics for CORE applicants. None of these is absolute and we encourage all potential students with general alignment to these criteria to apply for our programs.
